Volleyball Recap: Green Canyon Takes a Loss

Green Canyon was the 3-1 winner over Ridgeline when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverhawks on Tuesday.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Ridgeline scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21.

Avery Birch paced Green Canyon's offense, picking up 14 kills. Birch got some help from Elly Giordano and her 26 assists.

Seini Talakai had an outrageously good game for Ridgeline as she had ten digs and six aces. What's more, Talakai posted two assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

Green Canyon now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Ridgeline, their record now sits at 3-1.

The future could be bright for both Green Canyon and Ridgeline: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Wolves will look to extend Deseret Peak's three-game losing streak when they meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ridgeline will try to hand Tooele their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
