Florida State landed a commitment from one of the nation's elite defensive playmakers Wednesday night.

St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) four-star safety Daniel Wright notified FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher of his pledge after a camp.

"I see beyond just football here at FSU," Wright told MaxPreps. "The Seminoles have all the right things that I need going in my future. That's why I made this decision."

The 6-foot-1, 187-pound Wright is rated the 12th overall safety in the 2017 class according to the 247 Sports Composite.

His brother, Major Wright, is a current NFL safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wright transferred to St. Thomas Aquinas from Cardinal Gibbons two weeks ago. He will make a big impact for the preseason No. 1 team in the nation.
