Football Recap: Ridgeview Takes a Loss

Ridgeview lost against Clay back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between the Panthers and the Blue Devils didn't end well, with the Panthers falling 27-13. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Landon Martin had an outrageously good game for Clay as he threw for 202 yards and three TDs on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 93 yards and one score. That's the most passing yards Martin has posted since back in September of 2024. MiKeise Battle was Martin's top target, picking up 119 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Ridgeview's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clay, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Ridgeview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 31-8 win against KIPP Bold City on the 3rd. As for Clay, after each having a week off, they and St. Augustine will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
