Basketball Game Preview: North Tampa Christian Academy Titans vs. Sickles Gryphons

The North Tampa Christian Academy Titans will square off against the Sickles Gryphons at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Tampa Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.

Sickles is facing North Tampa Christian Academy at the wrong time: North Tampa Christian Academy suffered their first home loss of the season on Wednesday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 66-53 to the Panthers.

North Tampa Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cali Midyett, who went 5 of 8 en route to 15 points along with eight boards and four blocks, and Jelissa Anderson, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Anderson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mila Miller, who posted ten points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Sickles waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They claimed a resounding 68-41 win over the Cougars. The Gryphons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Sickles has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-8.
