Lordsburg has gone a perfect 4-0 against Navajo Pine recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lordsburg Mavericks are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on the Navajo Pine Warriors at 3:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Lordsburg is leaving town to face Navajo Pine after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Lordsburg fell just short of Hot Springs by a score of 13-11 on Monday. The Mavericks haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Lordsburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Retana, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another was David Valarde, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Navajo Pine was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 20-4 to Zuni.

Lordsburg took their win against Navajo Pine when the teams last played back in March of 2018 by a conclusive 15-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lordsburg since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
