Softball Recap: Fruitdale Takes a Loss

Fruitdale managed to slip by Clarke County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates lost 20-10 to the Bulldogs on Monday. Pirates fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Monday.

Kk Crager and Skylar Loper did some serious damage despite the final result: Crager went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Loper went 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. That triple marked the first that Crager has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jacey Frazier, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

This is the second loss in a row for Fruitdale and nudges their season record down to 6-17. As for Clarke County, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-12 record.

Looking ahead, Fruitdale will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Chickasaw at 4:30 p.m. As for Clarke County, they will take on Washington County at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
