Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Dorchester

Dorchester proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 38) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers, sneaking past 46-44. Winning may never get old, but the Longhorns sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Dundy County-Stratton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Abi Spargo, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Spargo, who shot 56% from the field en route to 11 points along with five boards and three steals.

Dorchester's win bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Dundy County-Stratton, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 16-7.

Looking ahead, Dorchester will face off against Silver Lake at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday. Dorchester's defense has only allowed 29.5 points per game this season, so Silver Lake's offense will have their work cut out for them. Dundy County-Stratton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
