Baseball Recap: Stoughton Comes Up Short

Stoughton came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Edgewood Crusaders, falling 14-2. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Stoughton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Pietruszynski, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Pietruszynski has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played.

Stoughton's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Edgewood, their record now sits at 11-3-1.

While Stoughton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
