A well-balanced attack led Union City over Montclair in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Soaring Eagles blew the Mounties out of the water with a 56-10 final score. With the Soaring Eagles ahead 28-3 at the half, the game was all but over already.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Naythan Pena and Mario Medina. Pena rushed for 132 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries while Medina rushed for 145 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. Those 132 rushing yards gave Pena a new career-high. Union City also got a significant boost from David Fernantes, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 95 yards.

Union City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 403 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Union City's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Union City's record is now 2-3. As for Montclair, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Union City will square off against Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Soaring Eagles will be up against the Tornadoes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Montclair, they will face off against West Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
