Softball Recap: Swansboro Comes Up Short

Swansboro lost against Richlands back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Swansboro took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richlands.

Swansboro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Jensen, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Adison Kirkpatrick also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Swansboro's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Richlands, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Swansboro will face off against West Craven at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Swansboro is facing West Craven at the right time seeing as West Craven is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Richlands, they will square off against Dixon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
