Basketball Recap: Gray Gleaton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead First Presbyterian Day over Pinewood Christian

First Presbyterian Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The matchup between them and the Pinewood Christian Patriots didn't end well, with the First Presbyterian Day Vikings falling 70-54.

First Presbyterian Day's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gray Gleaton, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gavin Wilson, who earned eight points along with five boards and three blocks.

Even though they lost, First Presbyterian Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Banks Hearn was his usual excellent self, putting up 45 points for Pinewood Christian. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Hearn has scored at least a third of Pinewood Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Kinlaw, who put up 12 points.

First Presbyterian Day's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Pinewood Christian, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.

First Presbyterian Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-44 win against Fullington Academy on the 28th. As for Pinewood Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-44 defeat against Stratford Academy on the 28th.
