Football Game Preview: Damonte Ranch Mustangs vs. Bishop Manogue Miners + How To Watch

The Damonte Ranch Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Bishop Manogue Miners at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Damonte Ranch came up short against Reed and fell 27-20. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Bishop Manogue faced Spanish Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Miners had to suffer through a 46-14 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The matchup was a close 17-14 at the break, but unfortunately for the Miners it sure didn't stay that way.

Damonte Ranch will have to contain Amir McGruder as he made an impact in Bishop Manogue's last game. He rushed for 142 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. McGruder also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Bishop Manogue is 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Evan Escovedo, who rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Damonte Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Bishop Manogue, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Damonte Ranch was taken down by Bishop Manogue 48-14 when the teams last played back in August of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Miners' Brandon Mann, who threw for 185 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 42 yards.
