Softball Recap: Irvine's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Irvine and JW North squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Irvine had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vaqueros have suffered since February 17, 2024.

Irvine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Liu, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

With the loss, Irvine broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-17. As for JW North, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

Irvine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for JW North, they will square off against St. Bonaventure at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Seraphs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight.
