Nordonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees. On the bright side, the three- run effort marked the Knights' highest-scoring match to date.

Nordonia got a good showing from Steven Fakult, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Nordonia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Smigel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That run marked the first that Smigel has scored this season.

Nordonia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Nordonia will challenge Westlake at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, they will take on Strongsville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
