Baseball Game Preview: North Tonawanda Lumberjacks vs. Lewiston-Porter Lancers

The North Tonawanda Lumberjacks are taking a road trip to take on the Lewiston-Porter Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, North Tonawanda didn't have quite enough to beat Lockport and fell 4-2. The Lumberjacks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Tonawanda saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Javi Ortiz, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lewiston-Porter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 12-8 to Grand Island.

Charlie Jorgensen stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Staszczyk, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

North Tonawanda now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lewiston-Porter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
