Sauk Prairie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leah Allen out in front who had 12 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Allen has posted over her last 13 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Bentlee Conway, who had 18 digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, McFarland was able to grind out a solid win over Portage on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1.
The final score came out to 25-22, 19-25, 25-17, 25-17.
McFarland found their leader in sophomore Talia Riemen, who had 16 digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Riemen.
They weren't the only good servers: McFarland was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive matches.
McFarland's victory bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Sauk Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 20-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Sauk Prairie has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.9 aces per game. However, it's not like McFarland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
