There's no place like home for Pomperaug, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the New Fairfield Rebels with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 21, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

One reason for the win was Pomperaug's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-10.

Molly Schneider paced Pomperaug's offense, picking up eight kills. Schneider got some help from Abby O'Connell and her 22 assists. Schneider was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

The victory got Pomperaug back to even at 4-4. As for New Fairfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pomperaug will square off against rival Brookfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, New Fairfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Bunnell at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
