Volleyball Recap: Sydney Lund Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Del Valle

It was a proper cat-fight when Dripping Springs challenged Del Valle on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past the Cardinals 3-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-19, 25-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dripping Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sydney Lund, who had 20 assists and eight digs. Lund has been hot, having posted 15 or more assists the last eight times she's played. Alexa Sandoval was another key player, getting 13 digs.

Dripping Springs was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are a perfect 9-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Dripping Springs' victory bumped their record up to 22-16. As for Del Valle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.

Dripping Springs and Del Valle could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 98th) will meet Austin (ranked 16th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Del Valle will square off against Bowie at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (754 vs. 223).
