Basketball Recap: Midland Comes Up Short

Midland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Marquette Crusaders, falling 66-44. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while the Crusaders are ranked 192nd).

Midland's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Marquette, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Midland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-30 loss against Monmouth United on the 1st. As for Marquette, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-34 win against Coal City on the 1st.
