Game recap: Banning High School Football Team bests Rim of the World

BANNING, Calif. - After nine lead changes, Banning (Calif.) took the lead for good when it scored a touchdown with 10:00 remaining in the third quarter and held on to beat Rim of the World (Lake Arrowhead, Calif.) 49-41 on Saturday.

The Fighting Scots pulled ahead on a rushing touchdown, and subsequently went into halftime leading 34-28. The Broncos scored the winning points with a touchdown that came in the third quarter.

Banning led by as many as 15 points before Rim of the World cut into the final margin.

Maya played well for BHS in the victory. The senior kicked six extra points.

Jacob Taylor made a difference for RW. The senior running back ran for five touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to 39 on the year.



The Lake Arrowhead school came in surrendering 13.6 points per game this season. The Fighting Scots struggled against the Broncos, which came in averaging 46.6 points per game.

The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Rim of the World took, 42-18.

The defeat comes as a step back for Rim of the World, which notched a 55-6 victory over Rubidoux in its previous outing.
