Basketball Recap: Ralls Takes a Loss

Ralls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 94-54 loss at the hands of the Floydada Whirlwinds. The Jackrabbits lost against the Whirlwinds in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 63-54 score last time.

Floydada got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braun Hobbs out in front who dropped a triple-double on 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists. Hobbs' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Valadez, who went 11 of 23 en route to 28 points and three steals.

Ralls' loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Floydada, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ralls will take on New Home at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Home will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ralls surely won't give up without a fight. As for Floydada, they will square off against Post at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Floydada's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.
