Softball Recap: Frontier Beats Hamburg for Their Third Straight Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Frontier). They skirted past the Hamburg Bulldogs 9-8. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by just one run.

The win (which was Frontier's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Hamburg, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Frontier will host Orchard Park at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Quakers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hamburg, they will venture away from home to take on Amherst Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
