Softball Recap: Middlesex Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lancaster last Friday, Middlesex came back down to earth. Middlesex fell just short of the Rappahannock Raiders by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Chargers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Magen Daniels spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Middlesex suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Rappahannock, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Middlesex will take on Essex at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rappahannock, they will venture away from home to face off against King William at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
