Basketball Game Preview: East Hall Vikings vs. Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes

The East Hall Vikings will face off against the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in East Hall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 matches.

East Hall is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing White County: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that East Hall blew White County out of the water with an 89-62 final score. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Monroe Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 65-48 to Cherokee Bluff. While losing is never fun, the Purple Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Bears are ranked 12th).

East Hall pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.2 points per game. As for Monroe Area, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.

East Hall was able to grind out a solid win over Monroe Area in their previous matchup on January 7th, winning 74-63. Will East Hall repeat their success, or does Monroe Area have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
