Negaunee came out on top against Houghton on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Miners blew past the Gremlins 12-6. The Miners haven't had any issues with the Gremlins recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Owen Cardinal was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 matches. Carsen Belanger was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Negaunee's record is now 13-4. As for Houghton, they dropped their record down to 7-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
