Soccer Game Preview: Arvada West vs. Denver North

The Arvada West Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Denver North Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Arvada West played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They beat Chatfield by a goal, winning 2-1.

Jonathan Trinkle and Cade Benage scored both of Arvada West's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Denver North kept a clean sheet against Hinkley on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Thunder. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Denver North's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Hinkley are ranked 149th).

Denver North's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 7-2-2. As for Arvada West, they now have a winning record of 5-4-2.

Arvada West came up short against Denver North in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
