Soccer Game Preview: Garinger vs. Independence

Garinger is 0-10 against Independence since March of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. Garinger has given up an average of 3.4 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Garinger came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-0 to Providence. While losing is never fun, Garinger can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Providence are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Independence can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rocky River with a sharp 9-1 victory. Considering Independence's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Garinger, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.
