Volleyball Recap: Sam Clark and Emma Graney Secure Win for Victor

Victor waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Academy of the Holy Names. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Victor easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16.

Victor was led to victory by Emma Graney and Sam Clark. Graney had seven assists and five aces, while Clark hit 66.7% for eight kills and four digs and three aces. The last time Clark's hitting percentage was this high was over her last six matches.

They weren't the only good servers: Victor was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 17 consecutive matchups.

Victor's record now sits at 14-4-3. As for Academy of the Holy Names, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coincidentally, Victor and Academy of the Holy Names will both be playing Columbia the next time they take the court. The Blue Devils will host the Blue Devils at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Academy of the Holy Names will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
