Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Forest Comes Up Short at Home Against New Covenant + How To Watch

Jefferson Forest unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the New Covenant Gryphons by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Jefferson Forest took New Covenant into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 17-25, 15-13.

New Covenant was led to victory by Embry Carlton and Lydia Williams. Carlton had 20 digs and two assists, while Williams had six aces. Carlton is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The victory (which was New Covenant's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Jefferson Forest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Staunton River on the 28th. As for New Covenant, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Lynchburg HomeSchool on the 29th.
