Softball Preview: Southern Nash Firebirds vs. Orange Panthers

Southern Nash is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Swansboro get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The Firebirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matches by six runs or more this season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Orange ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They blew past Triton 15-7. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st (when they won 10-0).
Lexi Bowes tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.
At the plate, Katie Carden was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Cecil, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Orange kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
