Basketball Recap: Harbor Beach Comes Up Short

Harbor Beach was the 24-23 winner over Deckerville when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Harbor Beach Pirates lost to the Deckerville Eagles on the road by a 34-16 margin on Thursday. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Harbor Beach has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Deckerville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Harbor Beach will venture away from home to take on Marlette at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harbor Beach is facing Marlette at the right time seeing as Marlette is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Deckerville has already played their next matchup, a 42-20 victory against Carsonville-Port Sanilac on the 24th.
