Softball Recap: Southeast Alamance Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Southeast Alamance was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastern Alamance Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Stallions of the 6-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Tatum Shelton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Katie Lloyd was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played.

Southeast Alamance now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Eastern Alamance, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Southeast Alamance wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-8 loss against Chatham Central on the 24th. As for Eastern Alamance, they will head out to face off against Person at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Alamance's pitchers better be ready for this one: Person has averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
