Baseball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Hudson on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-7. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 14-5.

Kason Snyder was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Brian Dopp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Madison is 19-2 when Dopp posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Mohr, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Madison is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-7. As for Hudson, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-10-1.
