Volleyball Recap: Wesson's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of five wins, Wesson's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Loyd Star Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Wesson was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Loyd Star work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 22-25, 25-11, 25-13.

Wesson's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-8. As for Loyd Star, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6.

While Wesson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
