Softball Game Preview: Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines vs. Hereford Bulls

Western Tech & Environmental Science and Hereford are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. Western Tech & Environmental Science will challenge Hereford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Western Tech & Environmental Science came up short against Dundalk on Friday, falling 14-2.

Western Tech & Environmental Science saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Lenhardt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Hereford got themselves on the board against Patapsco on Friday, but Patapsco never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 10-0 win. The Bulls haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Lauren Clement made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Clement was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ryleigh Collins was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Morgan Hall was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Western Tech & Environmental Science's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hereford, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Western Tech & Environmental Science was able to grind out a solid victory over Hereford when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western Tech & Environmental Science since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
