Basketball Recap: Bishop Carroll Comes Up Short

After flying high against Shawnee Mission Northwest last Saturday, Bishop Carroll came back down to earth. The Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles fell to the East Aces 56-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Eagles came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Aces are ranked 127th).

Bishop Carroll's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for East, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Bishop Carroll will venture away from home to challenge West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Carroll is facing West at the right time seeing as West is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. East has already played their next matchup (against Kapaun Mt. Carmel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
