Basketball Recap: Castleberry Takes a Loss

Castleberry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eagle Mountain Knights. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-39 back in December of 2024.

Eagle Mountain found their leader in sophomore Avery Moses, who almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine boards. Wyatt Roder was another key player, going 6 of 8 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Castleberry's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Eagle Mountain, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-10.

Castleberry will venture away from home to challenge Springtown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Springtown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Eagle Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Decatur's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.
