Union County had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Gilmer Bobcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The victory didn't come easy: Gilmer scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19.

Emry Sosensky paced Union County's offense, picking up eight kills. Sosensky got some help from Kamryn Brown and her 20 assists. Blaire Hedden controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Union County's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Gilmer, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Union County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on the 19th. As for Gilmer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Fannin County on the 16th.
