Soccer Game Preview: Stevens Point vs. D.C. Everest

The Stevens Point Panthers will head out to take on the D.C. Everest Evergreens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stevens Point barely beat Chippewa Falls the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers' defense stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 4-0 shutout on Saturday. The result was nothing new for Stevens Point, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, D.C. Everest waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Huskies. That's two games straight that D.C. Everest have won by exactly two goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Stevens Point and bumps their season record up to 8-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two matchups. As for D.C. Everest, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Stevens Point came up short against D.C. Everest in their previous meeting last Tuesday, falling 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
