On Friday, Mesilla Valley Christian School came up short against Belen and fell 42-34.
Despite the loss, Mesilla Valley Christian School still got an impressive performance from Nevaeh Benjamin, who scored 26 points. Benjamin scored a full 76.5% of Mesilla Valley Christian School's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Belen was led to victory by Jaelynn Bob and Danilynn Bob . Bob scored 14 points, while Bob scored 17 points.
Mesilla Valley Christian School's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Belen, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Mesilla Valley Christian School will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Cobre at 1:00 p.m. on December 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Cobre is ranked 31st, while Mesilla Valley Christian School is ranked 28th). As for Belen, they will take on Santa Teresa at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
