Baseball Recap: Loyola Falls to Calhoun in First Game of Season

Loyola unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 12-1 to the Calhoun Cougars on Wednesday. The Lady Knights haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Thomas Marquez-Miles was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1.

The victory got Calhoun back to even at 1-1.

While Loyola had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
