Basketball Game Preview: Osceola Kowboys vs. Southland Christian FLAMES

The Osceola Kowboys just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Southland Christian FLAMES at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Osceola got the win against Mount Dora Christian Academy by a conclusive 81-57. Given the Kowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 315th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Southland Christian over DME Academy Gold in every quarter on their way to victory last Thursday. Everything went Southland Christian's way against DME Academy Gold as Southland Christian made off with an 83-59 win.

Osceola better keep an eye on Carlos Escalera Jr.. He was instrumental in Southland Christian's win, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten assists. Escalera Jr. is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ismael Perez, who made all 6 shots he took to post 13 points and six steals.

Osceola pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points per game. As for Southland Christian, their win bumped their record up to 20-2.
