Preview: Harleton Wildcats vs. Wolfe City Wolves
The Harleton Wildcats will face off against the Wolfe City Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Despite a strong season so far, Harleton has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost to Ore City on the road by a decisive 32-13 margin on Friday.
Meanwhile, Wolfe City can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 70-42 win over Rivercrest. The win was just what Wolfe City needed coming off of a 46-0 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wolfe City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Herron, who threw for 273 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Hd Davis, who rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry.
Wolfe City's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Jadon Forniglia and Cannon Miller who racked up four sacks between them.
Ore City's win bumped their season record to 5-4 while Harleton's defeat dropped theirs to 7-3.
