Basketball Recap: Eek Piles Up the Points Against Kongiganak

Eek put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Kongiganak Wolverines 82-49. The Cougars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Eek was led to victory by John Friendly and George Hoffman. Friendly posted 38 points, while Hoffman put up 29 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Friendly has scored at least a third of Eek's points.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Lewis, who scored 14 points. Jonah Lupie was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Eek's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Kongiganak, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lewis Angapak the next time they take the court. Eek will head out to face Lewis Angapak at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, while Kongiganak will head out to face them on Saturday.
