League recap: Fleming tops Weldon Valley to extend winning streak

A-6 North (6 Man) recap Oct. 23, 2012

Fleming extended the longest winning streak in A-6 North (6 Man) this week by beating Weldon Valley, 60-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Wildcats.

Pawnee took down Colorado School for the Deaf & Blind 60-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brye Brunelle threw for 55 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Briggsdale's dynamic duo of Jake Lukas-Gorman and Austin Launer proved tough for Prairie to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lukas-Gorman threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns and Launer had 147 yards receiving. Tyler Axelson helped Briggsdale's passing attack out by catching two balls for 32 yards.

Austin Crane provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Peetz bested Edison. He completed three passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 196 yards. Crane's favorite target this week was Troy Clevenger, who caught two passes for 59 yards.

The Falcons' Lukas-Gorman and Launer have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Lukas-Gorman has thrown for 1338 yards this season, while Launer, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 34 catches for 624 yards. Fleming's Trevor Chintala leads the league in rushing yards with 1597.

Crane has rushed for 921 yards on 106 carries so far this year.

The Bulldogs led the league in scoring this week after putting up 77 points on the Eagles. Crane caught one passes for 15 yards in the win.
