Football Recap: Brandin Mincy Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Flanagan

West Broward won the last time they faced Flanagan and things went their way on Friday too. The Bobcats walked away with a 20-8 victory over the Falcons. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bobcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Falcons are ranked 244th).

West Broward's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandin Mincy, who threw for 146 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 44 yards.

West Broward didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Flanagan to a completion percentage of just 35.7%. The Bobcats weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 64.3%.

West Broward's defense didn't let Chance Humphrey., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. Zion Warner was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

The victory got West Broward back to even at 2-2. As for Flanagan, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, West Broward will be playing at home against Everglades at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will be up against the Gators' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Flanagan, they will head out to square off against Miami Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
