Basketball Game Preview: Hot Springs County Bobcats vs. Rocky Mountain Grizzlies

Hot Springs County hasn't had much luck against Rocky Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hot Springs County Bobcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Hot Springs County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Rocky Mountain likes a good challenge.

Hot Springs County is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Wyoming Indian, who was ranked 15th at the time (Hot Springs County was ranked 13th). Hot Springs County blew past Wyoming Indian 62-42 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Shoshoni on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 49-43 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.

Rocky Mountain found their leader in freshman Mason Moss, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moss has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hudson May, who posted nine points.

Hot Springs County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Rocky Mountain, their record now sits at 7-8.

Hot Springs County came up short against Rocky Mountain in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 50-46. Thankfully for Hot Springs County, Ben Simmons (who went 9 for 19 en route to 22 points and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
