Volleyball Game Preview: Freedom Irish vs. Denmark Vikings

The Freedom Irish will square off against the Denmark Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Freedom took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Clintonville as they made off with a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Freedom was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11, 25-15.

Freedom had a senior duo take command as Halle Srb had eight digs and three assists and Keira Griesbach had six digs and three aces.

Freedom was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last ten contests.

Meanwhile, Denmark was able to grind out a solid victory over Valders on Saturday, taking the game 2-0.

Denmark not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Valders between 14 and 16 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-14.

Denmark has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 22-11.

Freedom beat Denmark 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September. Do the Irish have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
