Baseball Game Preview: Raytown Bluejays vs. Belton Pirates

The Raytown Bluejays will head out on the road to square off against the Belton Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Raytown has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Raytown faced off against Grain Valley on Monday. The Bluejays might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-1 to the Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Raytown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Dunn, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Dunn is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Austin Terryberry also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Belton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Fort Osage 7-0 on Wednesday.

Raytown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Belton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
