Soccer Recap: Halls Comes Up Short

Halls managed to keep up with Powell until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Red Devils lost 7-1 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Halls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Powell are ranked 37th).

Halls' goal came courtesy of AnneMarie Winterberger, who's now up to five this season.

Halls has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Powell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season.

Halls will head out to challenge Carter at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Powell, they will welcome Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Powell will be up against Fulton's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.82 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
